We do. Catalyst Film festival believes in the power of film to act as a catalyst for positive social change.
Catalyst Film Festival will be showcasing films, art and projects, which aim to make the world a better place.
Our team and audiences are as diverse as our Programme.
We will be showcasing feature and independent Films for three days. There will also be creative workshops and panel talks linked to social welfare, justice and activism.

In the controversial month that Britain leaves the EU, we aim to unite our communities by drawing attention to universal human experiences. We are open to all forms of short film with a social justice agenda. There are two submission themes;
1. Behind Closed Doors-
Narratives of social change in our domestic homes and day to day lives
2. Open Space, Open World-
Narratives of social change on a global scale

Meet the team
We, The Movie Mavericks, have been working for two years to bring communities together through film events. The group consists of young artists, creative Professionals and friends. Our year-round programme of film events, focuses on engaging diverse audiences from every walk of life with independent and unusual films. Past Screenings took place in disused spaces (such as abandoned courtrooms).
Due to High demand, we will expand into a three day film festival in Staffordshire, on the 29th, 30th, & 31st of March 2019.
the event will also include plenty of surprises for your ears and taste buds!

LOCATION
Holly Norcop began to run pop up film festivals in disused spaces after receiving film curation training from Flatpack Film Festival. Over the last two years she has screened pop up film events in disused courtrooms, alleyways and at a language camp in Ukraine. Holly recently represented the UK film societies as a juror for Etudia & Anima 25th Film Festival in Krakow. She is currently chair of the community cinema group, the movie mavericks.
Screenings tbc across various city centre venues in Hanley. Follow our Facebook page for further details of all our venues. Norsaca Community Centre will be screening and offering free parking for Catalyst Film Festival.
